The Derby Yaadaañ Archive has been been made possible thanks to generous funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. We'd like to thank lottery players who make this possible. Derby Museums and BCVA would also like to thank the Indian Community Centre, Pakistan Community Centre, Derby Asian Strategic Partnership, The University of Derby, The Local Studies Library and W.W.Winters Studios for their support during the project.

NLHF funded the Derby Yaadaañ Project, which provided staff capacity essential to gathering of material and archiving of it.

This project has been created in partnership the Indian Community Centre and the Pakistan Community Centre, both of whom allowed space for community hubs from which we could start conversations, scan material and share findings. Both the Pakistan and Indian community centres have provided support to communities for many years, from visa applications to half term activities, exercise classes to a space to meet.

Derby Asian Strategic Partnership helped build networks and contacts for the crowdsourcing of material, whilst also contributing material from their own personal archives.

Derby Local Studies and Family History Library have supported the project with excellent advice on archiving, and also by incorporating the entirety of the Derby Yaadaañ Archive into their records. We wish to highlight their services and rich collections of local historical material that are publicly accessible.

The University of Derby provided excellent academic input on histories of migration, and supported the project with a student researcher, the work of whom you can find on the site.

W W Winters helped to provide a springboard into the project by delving into their photographic archives and sourcing historic portraits of South Asian communities moving to Derby. They were one of the few studios that would do so at the time.

We’d like also like to thank our project board, who contributed so much knowledge, expertise and contacts throughout the project.
